Attack the Bible - Shame on You!

It is more than shameful that there is a group today who would actually presume to attack the Bible and its very contents. Now lets examine this from some different perspectives to see whether we can get to the bottom of this most detestable action. When the Puritans came over to found this great nation, they came toting their one precious possession: the Bible. Our nation, America, would be one built on a foundation centered on God, the Almighty, the Creator. Now in these unbiblical times that we live in, certain men have decided that such attacks are a most acceptable action because this nation was built on freedom of speech; a freedom of which I am totally supportive, but one which unfortunately is often twisted and perverted to its most base form. These same men, whose characteristics are usually quite similar: haughty, self-centered, and arrogant in the extreme, qualities which belie a deep sense of insecurity; will argue feverishly that they know the truth and that they are too smart to be deceived by such a silly book. These men will point to inaccuracies, inconsistencies, and unconfirmed statements which all serve to refute this great book. Of course, these men will explain away the many inexplicable yet fulfilled prophecies that have come to pass in the course of history. Such scientific minds will claim that these happenings have been slanted in their interpretations, manipulated so as to render them believable to the gullible populace.

We, as a people, need to be more savvy about the motives behind such actions. My lack of Bible scholarship notwithstanding, I can earnestly say that these attacks can only come from a source of bad and not good. Why are these men so intent on revealing the supposed truth? Are our freedoms so compromised by believing in a book such as the Bible? Is there really so much harm done in trying to follow its teachings and precepts? Think for a second. Who would dare to take the chance that the Bible was untrue and attack it, risking, let us say, that small chance or no chancein their eyesthat they are wrong and God is right? If so many good people depend on such a worthy book to help them on a daily basis, and with all the claims of how such a book has done good in their lives, are these men so presumptuous and self-righteous as to dare attack its veracity?

Children believe in Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, and the Easter Bunny up till a certain age. Do we dare attack these cherished beliefs because we know otherwise? We uphold these out of love for our children, our grandchildren, our nephews and nieces. Do such men really want to attack something that they cannot prove untrue, relying only on their oft errant intuition, and in doing so, destroy the cherished belief of billions? Think about it. What makes more sense? Let the people believe and leave their cherished beliefs alone. For this is good.

Author Bio:

Joe Pagano

Joe is a prolific writer of self-help and educational material and an award-winning former teacher of both college and high school mathematics. Under the penname, JC Page, Joe authored Arithmetic Magic. As a result of this publication, Joe was invited to be a guest on the television show the Book Authority. Joe is also author of the charmingly pithy and popular ebook, Make a Good Impression Every Time: The Secret to Instant Popularity; the seminal collection of verse, Poems for the Mathematically Insecure, which teaches a number of valuable math lessons (often in a humorous way) and even demonstrates famous proofs in both free and formal verse; and the creator and scriptwriter of an upcoming DVD series that is both visionary and highly educational. The diverse genre of his writings (novel, short story, essay, script, and poetry)?particularly in regard to its educational flavor? continues to captivate readers and to earn him recognition.

With a renaissance approach to learning and with over twenty years experience in the science and mathematical disciplines, Joe, through his novel and engaging style of teaching mathematics, has won success for students who attempt to learn this most difficult subject. One of Joe?s principal endeavors is to give individuals---children in particular---the tools and confidence to do basic mathematics. Once obtained, these tools steer students into gradually increasing levels of mathematical study. Ultimately these same students become effective problem solvers with access to many doors of opportunity.

Joe propagates his teaching philosophy through his articles and books and is dedicated to helping educate children living in impoverished countries. Toward this end, he donates a portion of the proceeds from the sale of every ebook. Joe makes himself available for speaking, consulting, teaching and inspiration.
