In-Ground Pools: A Primer For New Buyers

Owning a pool is a marvelous way to get enjoyment from the summer sun and spend time with your friends and family. You can have as much fun as you like when you own a swimming pool in your backyard to dive into any time you want. You can stay clear of public pools to take a mid day swim or an evening dip.

It does not matter what type of pool you own whether it is an in-ground swimming pool or an above ground swimming pool, you will be glad that you have it for those hot and steamy days.

An in ground pool is a pool that is a lasting fixture normally designed with cement on the bottom and sides. Inground pools are generally more expensive than above ground pools but they are worth every additional dollar spent. These types of pools are built to different depths depending on whether a prospective buyer is more concerned in having a shallow end or if they want to install a diving board which means having a deep end.

The installation process is going to take more time than that of an above ground swimming pool, but the wait is well worth it in the end. The in ground pool is shaped by first having a hole excavated in the ground and a framework set up around the outside of the hole. Afterwards, sand is poured in the bottom of the hole and the liner is then created.

There are different materials can be used as the liner for the in ground pool. The most important and improved method is vinyl. This is a very attractive look to numbers of people who live in moderately cooler climates because the winterization of the swimming pool is not as difficult.

The other varieties of material that are used in In ground pools are fiberglass and concrete. Fiberglass liners are put together in a factory and composed from fiberglass-reinforced plastic that is worked into a basin shape that looks like a big bathtub. The good thing about fiberglass is unlike the vinyl liner, it will not have to be replaced in time, which mean you save more time and money.

Concrete Inground swimming pools are nice as well. You can paint the concrete or finish it in plaster. The look of tile is also another option. All of the above virtually indestrutable materials will stand up over the abuse that time deals out to the swimming pool. Many pool owners would rather invest more money in the first place, having what they wish and not having to worry about replacing it in the years to come.

In my next article youll learn about above ground pools, the pros and cons of owning one compared to having an in-ground pool installed on your property.
